Eon Customers are affected due to hike in energy prices


It's another big six supplier Eon hiked their energy prices to 9% on an average for dual fuel. Electricity prices will go up by 13.8% and gas at 3.8% which is approximately £97 / year. It will come in effect from 27th April 2017. Over 2.5 million customers are affected with this price rise. As per Eon Statement the price rise is due to increasing policy costs and other costs it couldn't control.

The other energy providers who increased their rates are Npower, Scottish Power, EDF Energy, First Utility and The Co-operative Energy. E.ON is the latest energy supplier who declared to raise energy costs in this year.

The price rise announcement by these suppliers will be affecting nearly 7.2 million UK energy customers. There will be an additional expenditure of around £530 million by the customers due to the price rises. This will greatly affect customers household expenses.
